I have noticed that the game has gotten slower, is there anything that I can do? Or is this good for everyone?

That is just typical for pbp games. There is really nothing you can do that I know of.

Yeah, I really want to kick things into overdrive, I don't mind solo rp sessions with the dm.

My last DM on the site when thing were getting real slow would hold an AIM session to get things rolling. It worked out really well.

Problem with that is getting hold of people. Which is what's going on now, people just disappear.

Play-by-post is always quite a leisurely process. No point in fretting, and impatience can be seen as quite aggressive by those who are content (or at least accustomed to) its rhythm.
The only tricks for keeping games moving that I have come up with over several years of playing & DMing play-by-post games are:
1. Everyone needs to be disciplined enough to look in once a day (or state if they are not going to be able to do so).
2. The DM has to be ready to 'move the story on' irrespective of whether or not the players have responded to the last bit - and the players (especially those who haven't managed #1) need to live with it and move on as well.
3. Never ask for a die roll - that guarantees that the player in question will be out of touch for several weeks! Encourage players who like rolling to send their roll in with the statement of what they are doing, and roll for anything you, as DM, decide is necessary if you haven't been supplied with an appropriate roll.
4. Remember that for most people, participation in on-line games is fairly low-priority compared to family life, work or other distractions. Even if you are eager to move on, others may put going to that birthday party or football game ahead of going online. Hence my point #1, but you have to respect that people's REAL lives generally come before their FANTASY ones.
Just a few thoughts...

Well, don't forget that I lost all my game data in the transfer to my new computer, so I am running on the fly for the next little while. Plus with a personal issue that will not be resolved until after August, I don't have the time to devote to rebuilding the world. However, I am trying to keep up with the posts as best I can, and I like the idea of the solo runs through AIM, though I only use MSN and Yahoo, AIM just doesn't like me. If anyone wants to run a quick solo one, I may be able to get something together rather quickly, just send me a message of when, and add me to either of the aforementioned systems and we can do it up some evening, though it will be late for me, my new job keeps me until 1230 in the morning.
