With the new system i can finally use an old favorite to its full extent. I am thinking of a 1-30 campaign where the players get to play three different charecters (1-10, 11-20, 21-30).
The first section deals with the charecters in the midst of a battle, doing various missions and recon for their side. The end will be clothed in obscurity or death as they attain 10th level.
The second section is 200 years later where a group of 11th level charecters stumble upon the remnants of Eagron-Urut, the old and fallen kingdom. Many undead lurk here and crypts dot the landscape. dungeons created by large burrowing creatures have left tunnels linking many of these crypts and partially caved in or enclosed buildings. This leads to the discovery of the other side, the side the first set of charecters were fighting against. Everything is not as it seems, as they discover a third side which has been secretly pushing the other two to battle to destroy each other. It ends in the charecters uncovering an ancient demon's crypt which either kills them, or, if they manage to kill it, traps them in an unending mist ( no save; other planar effect)
The third and final section of the saga is 50 years later and deals with a third and final set of charecters of 21st level to bring them up to level 30. In this one they are a group of outcast generals with very few loyal followers remaining (3d20 followers of 1d6th level). They were cast out for their blaming of the mercenary teifling leader, Moragh, for inciting further battles between them and their enemy. The emperor believes Moragh for the aid he has given to their side. The charecters must now quest to clear their name and find the truth of the matter. Basicly, history is repeating itself, but this time their is a chance they might turn back the tide of darkness which threatens to engulf two more kingdoms.

I'm interested though personaly I'd prefer to have them be 3 complete 1-30 compaigns with an interconnected storyline.

good idea for others who might wish to use the campaign idea, but the players i have have short attention spans and mostly enjoy the act of creating charecters, so i designed it around them. Still, an excellent idea for more focused and advanced players.

Guess I'll have to take a stare at 4th ed.

I'm sure you will need a druid, or a sorceress, or....

Yeah, I like this idea...

running around the 3 different adventuring tiers sounds like a blast...

Might have to steal this idea...

I'd be interested in joining the campaign, whether it's run as a single or three split story lines. Any idea as to when this campaign might be starting?

And how are we generating characters?

This was a home campaign I was thinking on. I haven't figured out enough yet about 4.0 to run one on here yet. When I do I am going to run a snakelords campaign setting based on a violent war between the world and the dragons (as well as other lizardy types).
