Gender Bender
Type: Transmutation
Level: Sor/Wiz 4, Chaos 4
Components: V, S, M/DF
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Close (25ft + 5ft / 2 caster levels)
Target: One creature of size Huge or smaller
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resistance: Yes

When cast, this curse causes the target to have their gender switched from male to female, or vice versa. The changed target will have a size and shape roughly in line with their body before the change. If the target's race incurs different bonuses or penalties depending on sex, the target acquires the stats for the gender that they are turned into. This effect can only be removed with a Remove Curse, Miracle, Limited Wish or Wish spell.

    This could be a blessing to some people....ex...drow the males are considered lesser in the eyes of Lloth, so if they are changed into female, do they gain the bonuses of the female drow?

Hmmm, excellent point, will have to put something in about that.

Thanks :)

Gah!! Sorry, its meant to be Limited Wish, which should be in the Players Handbook - I'll change it, thanks :)

LOL this is great. Now there's a spell for it instead of just an item. Looks a bit underpowered for the spell level (since stats don't really change in 3.5D&D between male and female except for a few monsters). I'd probably put it at level 2 or 3 if gender is its only effects. :D

While 6th level is too high, as it is a limited form of polymorph, the effect is permanent and potentially socially destructive. I would put it at 4th, I think, as the ways to dispel it are limited.

You know, on second thought, since this really doesn't alter stats, but is a permanent change, I would make it the same level as the Permanency spell itself or one level lower, seeing is the spell is only meant to make other spells permanent as its only effect. I'm not sure what level it is, either 4 or 5 would be my guess.

Okeydoke, spell level is not really my thing, but Level 4 will bring it in line with Alter Self and that seems a fairly good comparison.

Thanks for all the help guys! :)
