The Senseless Ones are a group of dueling mages that have eschewed the sensations of sight, sound, touch and smell whilst they duel, preferring to hone their abilities to spar using only the glory of magic. Open to any who wish to practice with them, the Guild has spread proponents far and wide to preach the glory of using magic without sensation.
Duels are generally soletary affairs between two members, each with a second to aid them; only very rarely there are duels with more than two combatents. Before each duel, the duellists are blindfolded, and have their ears and nose plugged with wax or similar substances - the duelling area is then cloaked in either normal or magical darkness. They are then permitted time to cast spells that may aid them in detecting and defeating their opponent.
Once both are prepared, their second touches them briefly on the shoulder, the only sensory experience permitted during the duel, and the opponents can begin to move on to offensive spells. No duel is to the death, the winner is the first to make their opponent use his senses; whether from feeling a jolt of pain, making any vocal noise, or any other method. Duels do not generally last more than a few minutes, with only the true masters able to maintain their senses within themselves and use magic as their only conduit.
