The Brother Hood of Wings is an organization of good natured magic users. Their doors are open to anyone who possesses knowledge of the Celestial Planes. This includes a good number of mages, sorcerers, and a handful of priest who worship the gods of magic.
Duels are handled fairly, and always with the safest of protocol. Inter guild duels take place in a guild arena, and are usually held for rank purposes. Of course they do hold the occasional tournament to help raise money for the guild, and to help educate the common people of the wondrous properties of magic.
Duels held outside of the guild are handled with care,and three golden rules;
Nobody is to be permanently injured by a guild member, this is the first and primary rule. Some wizards may need to be subdued, but actually causing aggravated wounds in a duel is considered bad form.
Protection of property is also a priority, and collateral damage is kept to a bare minimum by guild members.
Submissions of any kind are always taken. If your dueling partner is though, and you've won, any unneeded attacks would only humiliate them.
The guild offers lots of benefits to members. There are the grand halls, where magical knowledge is stored for any member to read. There are also a wide variety of tutors willing to take on students for lower than average wages. The magic componet shop "Angel Dust" where guild members may buy material components from the Celestial Planes. The Brotherhood has also made many contacts with various artificer, and craft guilds, and can get members discounts at participating smiths, taylors, and bakeries.
The guild refuses to take part in any government politics, or even make their presence known as a power in the realms they have chapters. That is, with one exception, the guild has drawn a strict line with the use of necromancy. Guild members will act against anyone raising corpses from the grave, or extending their own lives though necromantic magics. Undeath is an abomination, healing necromantic spells are one thing, but the creation of any form of undead is considered the vilest of crimes.
