"It has been my dishonor to live in such a fashion these many years... I wish for redemption. I know I cannot hope to atone for all my crimes, but I want to do all I can to try and give back some of the goodness my selfishness has since taken from the world." the shame faced Druid explained, his head hung low. "You are a powerful man... this land speaks of your magic and technology. Surely you can help me?"
"Hm... well, how do you feel about gardening?" the Shade Artificer asked absently.
Kurogo's Rooting Curse
Transmutation
Level: Druid 9, Plant Domain 9
Components: S, M*
Casting Time: 1 round
Range: Touch
Target: Touched Evil Creature
Duration: Permanent
Saving Throw: Fort negates
Spell Resistance: Yes
*Special Material Component: This spell requires a living/undead target to serve as the material component itself.
By means of this spell, the user is capable of bringing into the world goodness where evil once walked. Upon making a successful Touch attack upon an enemy, the spell takes root... literally. The target's lower limbs forcibly dig into the ground/floor beneath them as they transform into thick roots and anchor them in place. The target rapidly Polymorphs into an Ironwood tree of the target's creature size, retaining all sentience and awareness of itself in spite of being rendered wholly immobile.
From around the new tree springs lush vegetation as the spell Plant Growth, as cast by a 9th level caster. The oasis created as a result of this spell is magical in nature; its existance is not reliant upon its environment and it can continue to flourish even in harsh, inhabitable conditions. The oasis bars violence within its radius as the spell Sanctuary, though it does not allow creatures entering its radius a Will save to negate the effects. All creatures who remain in the oasis within sight of the tree at its center are sustained daily as by the spell Create Food and Water; their bodies are magically replenished and they only require two hours of sleep instead of eight to become fully rested.
If the target of this spell is within a building or other structure not directly in contact with the earth, its roots will grow to tangle around the building until they reach earth. Similarly, the resulting oasis will also enshroud the structure within its range.
