Sure can Barrok!

Ok here you go:

Paizo.com has the Pathfinder alpha download for free, in it is an armored caster feat tree.

If the person is interested in Sorcerer the Battle Sorcerer from Unearth Arcana can cast in light armor, which can be improved with battle caster from Complete Arcane.

Paths of Magic from a third party publisher has a feat you can use to decrease ASF.

IF they don't mind prestige classes Spellsword handles 10% of ASF.

Finally they can take a feycrafted Mithral Chain Shirt with a Thistledown Suit has the following stats:
1350 gp + 3 AC + 5 Max DEX - 1 Armor check Failure 0% Arcane Spell Failure Light Armor
Feycrafted is from DMG 2
Thistledown Suit is from Races of the Wild

That last one is remembered, I'm away from my books right now I'll post again tonight once I have them.

I was looking at battle Caster earlier but I thought hmmm Armour Casting - then realised such a feat is just in NWN and therefore needed to try and look through the books

Thanks Niko for going through all of that for me as I am away from a fair few books too at present.

Ok I got that suit of armor figured out by book now:

Feycrafted Mithral Chain Shirt with Mithral Dastanas (bracers) With Thistledown Suit
2875 GP + 5 AC + 5 DEX - 1 Armor Penalty 0% Arcane Spell Failure 14 Lbs. (- 1 hardness - 5 HP for the suit)

That's brilliant - and I thought I was the only one with too much time on their hands.

Seriously.. thanks loads for this. Olstar may be a happy chappy

Now out of all those the easiest is the battle sorcerer.

Here's what he gets:
HD: d8
BAB: average
light armor proficiency and ignore light armor spell failure
Proficiency with 1 martial weapon

- 1 spell per day per spell level
- 1 spell known per spell level

Instead of a feat the is a suit of armor that is called mage plate. I cant remember what book or dragon magazine I saw it, but its breast plate that has the armor around the shoulder removed to allow for total freedom of movement. Zero spell failure and has the same AC as standard breast plate. Is concidered masterwork, so all check penalties are reduced accordinly. Hope this helps you some.

Ok found the armor I was talking about. You can find it in Gryohon's Armoury Weapons and Armout by Robert Smith. The stats are on page 5, cost 500 gp +4 AC max dex +4 check penalty -5 Arcane Spell Failure 0%. The discrpition is on page 8. Lucky I found it quick I have over 1000 books to skim through for info.

Just remember for the love of all that is cheese to stay far far away from warmage!

As a famous admiral once said:

"IT'S A TRAP!"

Havn't had a chance to realy work ont he character till now. One question about that armor, will it take up the torso and arm slots. I'm sure I'm asking a stupid question its just that you've written it almost like its 3 seperate items and then put the price like it was one.

Complete Arcane

I believe it has some stuff regarding casting in armor.

It has a feat that will let you cast in medium or heavy armor without penalty provided you can already cast in light or medium without penalty. Anyways I already know how I'm going to deal with it I just want to know if the arm and torso item slots will be used or just the body slot.

Armor in 3.5 takes up the "armor" slot. As odd as it sounds that leaves you a "shirt" slot on your chest and your arms and such free.

Slots for 3.5 -- item names types
Head -- "helmet" "headband" "crown"
Neck -- "necklace, perpait, phalcerphy"
Eyes -- "goggles" "glasses" "masks"
Cloak -- "cloak" "mantle"
Armor -- "armor" "robe"
Shirt -- "vest" "shirt"
Belt -- "belt"
Boots -- "boots" "sandals"
Gloves -- "gloves" "gauntlets" *special note even if there is only one in a special set (i.e. gloves of storing) the item takes up both glove slots... normally (i.e. no glove of storing and gauntlet of rust, one or the other)
Bracers -- "bracers" "armbands"
Rings -- "rings"

Those are the standard slots.

BTW there is a feat in complete scoundrel called "Master Spellthief" that allows an arcane caster to cast spells in light armor. You'll need a level (at least) in spellthief and the ability to cast 2nd level spells to get it though.
