Has anyone here actually seen the Action! system? Goldrush Games made a few good games like 1632 (based of Eric Flints' Books) and Zorro. Their Japan based game was very beautifully done and complete with historical information.
Unfortunately, the company essentially folded in September of last year.
It is based on Fuzion, so it has some familiar aspects.
The main mechanic is Skill+Attribute+3d6 versus a target number for success.
Despite all their work, they never released a bestiary, magic system, psionics module or even a low-level supers game. The Action! system as it is provides a great framework itching to be completed. One third party publishers made a fantasy supplement. The magic system was essentially like the 5R from Hero Games.
There was also a very good Mech module, but the writer has since chagned systems. I have the last Mech for Action! somewhere...

Just curious what folks think of the system.
I like it for many reasons, but one of them is the elegant way of handling "hitting" in combat. Instead of worrying about natural AC, Touch AC, flat-footed AC, and the like, there is one simple rule. You may hit someone with a sword, but it may do zero damage. A character rolls to 'hit' and rolls damage. The value of the armor is subtracted from the rolled damage. If that is zero, your 'hit' did no damage.
It works for me because tough creatures don't balloon hit points in order to take more damage.
Still like D20 -- no bash on the system I basically grew up with. As I stated earlier, I'm trying to rewrite the rules along the same lines as the Pathfinder RPG being a rewrite of 3.5 rules.
