Divine Maelstrom
Enchantment
Level: Epic
Spellcraft DC: 120
Components: V, S, M, XP
Casting Time: 5 minutes
Range: long 400' + 40' per Level
Area: 1mile + 1/4mile per level
Duration: 1 hour per level
Saving Throw: Will (harmless)
Spell Resistance: Yes (harmless)

The cleric summons a force of its angry god which rampages through the land in the apparrel of a mighty storm (same as create storm) The rains buffet the land but also all arcane users within the area are drained of their spells, all magical items must save or be perminantly drained of their power. The only items safe are Artefacts/relics. The stroms draining effects do not hamper divine magic, in fact it has the reverse effect where all divine magic has an increased DC of 4.

Material Component:- The head of an arcane spell user (at least 10th level) burnt over a fire made of rare incense (worth 10000gp)

XP cost:- 20000

It does seem Epic, then again... most hords of goblins or what not are not running around with arsenals of enchanted weapons.

Im going to let you all argue it out, and come back to my ickle storm later and change things. Though I must admit I do want the Epic Level Handbook

Yes, but you could totally dessimate any other adventurers...

I mean, if an enemy used this one you wouldn't you call it overpowered? All of your spells gone and all of your items destroyed without even SEEING your enemy?

do you also think that the XP cost should be raised I was thinking maybe 10000

does seem like a nifty way for a Evil DM to take away some of the magical things the players wormed out of him when he was drunk and babbling though the night....

OO those numbers are pretty big. What a nice spell though, just looking at it made me warm and fuzzy inside. So for Epic Spells I need to add SpellCraft and a seed? am I on the right track there?

If anyone wants to suggest the developement of the spell that would be a great help

If it's truly epic, then it should have a more prominent effect on the landscape. Flooding, mudslides, animals getting spooked, and morale checks for anyone witnessing your god's might who is concidered an enemy. Maybe some plants being uprooted in the flood.
