Well I did a post just about WoD but I have been looking over my other books and wondered if there were any other GMs around who knew other systems and were willing to run games such as BESM, Rolemaster, Spacemaster, Hero System, D20 Modern.. etc
Please feel free to contact any of the admin over this (especially Skurvy as he love talking to people about games.. really... )

I love other stuff. I can do BESM, although if Sent ever makes it back, he had a good supers game going for a while. My Star Wars game is converting to Risus, and i think it's in need of some players. I wouldn't mind seeing a Scion game get up, but i doubt I have the time to run one, with the new job and all. I would really REALLY love to run a game of Godlike or Nemesis... Something with the ORE as the system, and Nemesis is free and is right up there with CoC when running a horror game.
My two cents.

hey barrok, i would like to see the possibility of a shadowrun game get going, and i would like to possibly run a freeform game at some point, got some loose ideas for that. even if i dont run the freeform, i would like to contribute in some way and/or participate in it.

I can do Ramlar and Savage Worlds, but I can't commit to something like that at this particular moment. In the future, I'd totally be down.

Sounds like a good plan Sunfist - when you can commit please post up as I am sure a few of us would love to play

Sorry if this is a little late.
I could run these games from the following
World of Warcraft (d20)
Call of Cthulhu (%tile)
Paranoia
star wars (d20)
D20 modern
I'd have to see how this forum works doing an online game but I would gladly GM one within the next month

I have been known to GM a game now and then, but they are mainly D20 based. I have a few solid ideas but no time at the moment.
As ever, I am available as a very poor stand-in GM should anyone need it :D

Hey there,
I can run the following;-
Call of Cthulhu (d% very much preferred but can also do D20 - at a pinch);
Rolemaster (I'd have to dig the books out of storage first though ;) );
AD&D 2nd, 3rd editions;
Ars Magica (remeber this one?);
Palladium;
Warhammer FRP; and
Runequest:
Probably a lot of other games too, but I can't think of them at the moment.
The ones in bold are my preferred systems

WOAH Rolemaster - I have a load of the book just above my head as we speak - I think I have got up to RM Companion 5, elemental companion, arms companion, alchemy companion.. oh and the core books.. I really loved Rolemaster - I even played Space Master a couple of times just to use the critical tables for a Magnetic Linear Accelerator rifle.
Anyway If you have an idea.. and want to run a game - post up in the space to rent forum with the game system involved and I will try to find you players...... Coc Is always good.. and the rest are good too.

never got into "space" games - did a few star trek when it first came out, but wasn't too impressed with it. I did look at space master though and thought - hmmm do I - don't I?
As for RM - I think if you have a good keeper / dm / whatever it can make any game succeed, but with RM, the games rules cover any eventuality and with precision too. The thing I liked about it best was the healing - much better than simply casting CLW or whatever.

I liked the fact that on the subject of Healing - you had things covered such as Joining - for when someone did get that lucky strike and hacked off your arm you had to have someone cast 4 spells to reattach it. Though my all time favourite character class was the Warlock who had some seriously nasty spells.
Anyway I think we could chat about Rolemaster in the General Games Discussion section (http://barroks-tower.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=30)...
and when you have an idea of a game you would like to run - just post up in a separate thread here - I'll try to get you some people and get the game under way as soon as possible.
(Thanks for the rolemaster chat - haven't talked about that game in a couple of years)

Well I would be interesting in running a D20 Modern/D20 Past game set in my own campaign setting with one or two minor rules changes.

Mr Stormy - I know an Admin (points to Skurvy) who loves d20 Modern.... if you have time please advertise in the space to rent forum as I am sure you would get a number of players wanting to game straight away.

I'd like to run a game of Nobilis, which I think is very suited for PbP play. The only problem is that it's fairly unknown. However, it's also really very simple and I don't mind to teach new players. I'm currently also running a game of it irl, and I have GM'd for 6 years now (I GM more than I play).
If I can get some player's I'd love to run a game in the Tower.

Nobilis... sounds familiar, could you remind me of the fluff and the mechanics I think I've done that one.

Did anyone thought of playing a Highlander RPG set in WoD.
Delta
2nd June 2008, 01:33 AM
Let's see. Nobilis is set in current/modern time, only a little more dystopian. There are 3 worlds, the regular one, the mythical one and the spiritual one. Because of a war going on in the spiritual world, the Imperators (gods of certain aspects/elements) need other people (the players) to manage their affairs in the regular and mythical worlds so they can focus on the war.
Each player used to be human but now has a shard of an Imperator's power, i e 1 domain that they can control and are responsible for. It can be anything from Fire to the Internet to Hope to Animals... Anything goes.
The mechanics are fairly simple. There are no dice. Everything you want to do with your power has a basic difficulty level from 1 to 9 and a type (Domain, Aspect, Estate, Something. Those are the only 4 stats, all point buy.). You have a limited number of points to spend per type per 'encounter'. As to what you can do, anything goes.
In combat with other Powers, each combatant has 1 defense stat derived from one of their base stats. If the level of the miracle you're trying to do exceeds his defense stat, he's hit.
That's basically all the crunching there is to this game, the rest is RPing and fluff.
The players as a group work for 1 Imperator and manage his estate, which means that you don't only roll up a character during character creation, but also work together to design a base. Which can, again, be anything.
Could be a mansion, could be an entire world under the sea (though the entrance may be in a desert or a city), could be an endless maze... I think the book mentions an example of the Power of Landladies's Estate being a room on the 1st floor of an apartment building... EVERY apartment building. Everywhere.
It's more of a fluff game, really. You -could- do anything, but you run the risk of breaking mortal's minds in the process which gets you in trouble, and the big guy's punishments REALLY REALLY SUCK.
In the mean time the agents of an enemy from beyond our normal existance that are trying to destroy our world, one soul at a time (if you're lucky).
Then there's the regular people and other Powers, forces of Heaven, Hell, Light or Dark, that are either trying to destroy humanity or each other.
Then there's your boss's estate you need to manage, your followers that need help because they're horrible bad-luck-magnets, an Illuminati-like human organisation with just about unlimited power and help from the immortals, etc.
Really the only thing that bugs me about this game is that the GM is called the "Hollyhock God." Yeah, the guys that made it are big on flowers.

I've been in the mood to run some superhero games, so a nice Classic Marvel is something I could whip up. I've got all the books and modules, so there's quite a bit to work with there.
I'm still researching on other superpowered games like Heroes, Mutants and Masterminds, Champions, and other things like that. I may switch over to one of those or make a homebrew, depending on how they feel.

Um last time I played a marvel game I was told not to ever do it again. I had a multiple man spin off with slight sonic powers... I split into fifty of myself grappled juggrant to a stand still the had all my copies hum off key for about an hour in his ear... sanity doesn't hold up well against that apparently.

Also have a look at BESM that's quite a weird system - as for Marvel - I managed to pick the original Xmen box set.. I'll have to give it out as a prize one day ... just at as a side note.. anyway when you are ready to do a superhero game just post up an original thread int he Space to Rent forum Kurogo

Y'see, it's that sort of thing that makes me lose faith in players' abilities to not destroy the world they live in. In a previous high-power Marvel game I ran with my tabletop group, the bunch of them literally, and I quote exact game events, fleeing a nuclear blast shockwave by having their Speedster tow his companion by an adamantium line as he surfed on Captain America's shield.
It was glorious.
But anyway, I plan for any superhero game here to be street-level. Y'know, where bullets are still an appreciable threat, secret identities actually mean something, and Sentinals are more than just big punching dummies? If it was a Marvel game, then I'd set it in a militant society that spawned from the results of Days of Future Past, where the government succeeded in wiping out mutantkind and forcing the survivors underground. All the major superheroes/villains would either be dead, missing, de-powered, in hiding, or far too powerful to even care about the rest of the world.

Well, a super hero game sounds awesome to me. Marvel, Champions, Heroes Unlimited. . .whatever works for you. Always loved playing them, and I have quite a few books from a number of systems. If you need one more to get a game going, count me in.
