How many interested?

Percentile based and I will modify it so I don't kill all of you right away.

I will come up with basic characters and allow a bit of personal modification

Yes to me too. And actually most of Lovecrafts writings and most of Cthulhu gaming was based in the 1920's . I remember Chaosium - who did the original paper and dice game back in the early 1980's - did a set called " Cthulhu by Gaslight " which was set in 1890's Victorian England . Most fun .

I'd love to be included if my life calms down a little and allows me to focus properly on multiple games. I started on Cthulhu with it's 1st edition printing way back when .

So long ago , so far away, so clear .

Count me in, CoC is one of my favourite RPGS EVER!!!

what era were you thinking of running?

eric
19th May 2008, 10:57 PM
The date is early 1920, NYC, NY

I will provide a short paragraph on about 8-12 characters, you
guys get to pick your character based on the description then add
some skills to the character and we will begin.

I am looking/hoping for 6 active players...

OK I have one more AnP test on Wed evening, after that I will
gen up the characters (already got some ideas) It appears to be 6 at the moment. so in a week or so stand up and be counted again.

To quote a friends comic book Watch this Space.

Also feel free to ask questions about the game.

It truely is. I have played it of and on since it's inception in the early 1980's . I Played mostly 2nd and 5th edition under a GM who had masters in Psychology . He was a fantastic generator of terror and true fear . He had the art of Lovecraftian GM'ing down to a science .
It has been awhile since I have played , but It would be like riding a bike. You never forget .

The thing I remember most was you did not want to get hit. Taking damage meant healing in a hospital or someones home. And it took forever. 1 hit pont a day was darn slow .

Count me in if there is space .

Hey king sloth - I have the same sort of person who ran it for us. Was fantasticly done and I will never forget it. We played modern Britain under the delta green supplement, and we were working for pisces. And I can honestly admit I did get scared in real life. We played by candle light from 3pm-3am and it was soooo sweet.

Eric - will we need to have the rulebook handy whilst playing (not done a rpg on this site before) and how will we do roles?

Cthulhu. . .god I miss running from his minions. . .

It's been quite a while since I played, but would really like to get into another game if you have the open slot. Not entirely sure what edition you are using, or even if it is the Chaosium version for that matter, though I do have a number of books floating about here somewhere. Please feel free to message me with a response at xaotik1@yahoo.com, or look up "xaotik1" on myspace messenger/yahoo messenger/msn messenger.

No rulebook needed I will let you know what you need like good minions :)

I think I will announce the roles, and let you pick your top three and I will use math to figger out who gets who. If that al right... Eric

I should be posting character archetypes this weekend. I will only assign characters after all those who have noted interest before have expressed interest in a character. I will allow 3 choices from the available characters I have stereotyped. Eric

If there are any spaces left - then I'd love to be included.

CoC is the best game ever, but if in the hands of a not so good keeper then it can fall apart. It's all about atmosfear and players should be scared to try ... sorry, not my soapbox :p

Back to reality - I've got the following rulebooks, second edition, fourth, fifth and sixth editions, so can slot in well with whatever version.

Hope to hear from you soon

Norm
