Charm City, a region of roughly over 600,000 mortal residents. Charm City has been a seat of power for the Camarilla for nearly 300 years. Times have changed however, for the current prince of the city had become complacent in his rule. The political structure of the kindred in the city had remained unchanged for so long that there has been a steady decline of the Camarilla power base, and many intruders have come to occupy many sections of the area. There are rumors flying that a Justicar is coming to the city, and judgment will be swift when they arrive. The Prince had ignored these whispers, dismissing them as nonsense. But the rumors are true, and the fall of the Prince has caused a power vacuum in Charm City, many will be vying for the positions of power and station within kindred society. What will follow will be numerous power struggles, back-stabbing, rumors, lies, and double-dealing. Everyone will be out to make themselves look good while making everyone else look bad, and to discretely eliminate the worst of the competition outright. The Justicar did come one dark night to escort the former Prince to his new destination, one very far away from the reigns of power...

All of you have been compelled to leave your current locations and tasks to gather in Charm City, to open once again the Elysium, and establish a new Prince and other members from the ranks of the Nightblessed. You only take what you can carry, and your knowledge of Kindred society is limited by what you had learned from your Sires. Next to blood, the Masquerade is of great priority for it had been thoroughly implanted into the core of your being, that it will keep you alive and free from the horrible consequences of discovery. Your journey begins in the harbor of Charm City, a harbor that has been in use since the late 18th century. The city is old, but not as old as cities in Europe where most of your fellow Kindred hail from. Located on the eastern seaboard, nestled in a small state of Maryland, your new life awaits you, filled with much fascination. Your loyalties will be tested, and the now vacant garden of Kindred power requires a new warden to dominate and nurture. It is the beginning of winter, the prey seeks shelter from the cold, you do not breathe so that is a dead give away about your true natures. Hide yourselves from them and control them from the shadows. They are cattle but should never be underestimated, for their shear numbers would overwhelm us, and bring about the destruction of our kind. The city awaits, its' mouth wide open to devour the weak and hesitant. Have you the prowess and wit to survive the long night...

I was wondering if any interest is out there for such a game. I modified the rules for ease of play and speed. Many Clans are allowed but this is strictly a Camarilla vampire based game. The game is largely based on Laws of the Night 2nd edition and is Dependant on story telling that generate rewards based on the events. These rewards can then be used to strengthen the characters throughout the story. Players are also invited to create their own story lines to enchance the overall story arc. Players are encouraged to be active so those that have little time or want to play wallflowers would not like this game. There is potentially room for 50 players but I am seeking a good group of 5 to 10. No experience is needed and I am willing to teach.

The game is set in modern day Baltimore Maryland

Please post here or Pm me if interested.

Im interested, but a little hesitant to get involved as the last 2 WoD games I participated in died pretty quickly from lack of interest. But aside from that I'm not that experienced playing vampires, I understand everything on the character sheets, rules etc. But I haven't found a good way to roleplay, as I havent delved too deeply into social situations so I've yet to really be tested.

Would you be able to help get me into a vampire psyche? if yes, then count me undoubtedly in!

I would be honored to help you get into the game itself. Developing a character and role playing them can be difficult but I will do my best to help you create a character suited to your tastes.

Many of the rules I have changed to quicken the resolution mechanics and also to simplify other rules for ease of play. A wide variety of possibilities has been preserved however, and the choices are plenty.

I'd like to join if you'll have me.
I haven't played Vampire before, though I've always wanted to DM a game of it... Couldn't get my players to co-operate on account of the game being "too emo".
I have the rulebook for Vampire: The Masquerade, though I think I recall it being a pain to find because there's a new version or something... Either way I'll have to get some help on the character sheet.
Let me know if you'll have me :)

I would be interested. I have tried getting into a couple and they have died as well. I would be a newbie but think I can bring some interesting drama to the mix.

I don't know much about Mascarade, I've been playing Dark Alley for the last year or so and would be interested in trying my hand for this game, I know vampires rather well i would just need to know the different rules for Mascarade but i could bring a vampire in pretty easily.

Man, I haven't played Masquerade in a long time. I'm going to need to learn the LARP rules, sadly, as I have no idea how they operate. And while it would appear I won't be using my favourite character I've ever played, since he's Sabbat and all, I'll see what I can do with this character. Actually, I'm curious - how do you deal with Tremere? There's an old character I never really got to play around with, and I wouldn't mind giving it a try, depending. If not, I may have a Malkavian up my sleeve, we'll see.

Well it seems that there may be enough interest after all. Thank you all for your positive response. I have room for more players so do not worry about space being limited. I shall be asking very soon about posting some boards up so characters can be created.

I am willing to teach those that do not have any prior knowledge. The rules are based on previous editions of different titles of r slight does not hold a penaltygames made by White wolf but are not cardinal. Any knowledge is helpful but in no way will the curious or the inexperienced be turned away. The game is more about the story and what happens along the way then being strict about the rules. Rules help with balance and to keep the game moving along in a fair way.

I will however ask that you please be patient with myself for the work load will be difficult in order to keep track of what happens in game. If anyone would like to help me out with keeping the game running, please feel free to speak out about it. I do seek experienced storytellers though because of the task at hand. Not to say that those without experience could never do so and may be called upon soon enough if the situation merits it. Those that help GM a game do suffer experience reward penalties however so I do not ask lightly.

yay for WoD :D
You mention 2nd edition ... this means Masquerade as opposed to Requiem?
Thus I declare my interest.
I played some WoD and read a lot of it.

Emm ... I just noticed the topic title ... LARP? Isn't actually being there in person the point of a larp?

Vivamort

I have received permission to start the game. I will now ask for the boards to be created. All of the rules will be posted and the game will not start until everyone is comfortable with their characters.

And yes I do have LARP in the title but that was because I have converted the LARP rules (Laws of the Night 2nd edition) to PBP form. Posting is the next best thing to being there IMO. PBP allows time for players to be involved due to time zone differences and hectic schedules. And since this is the only game of this nature currently on the web and exclusively on the Tower, this is an opportunity to make gaming history.

I am a huge fan of the WOD and MET lines but differ from the norm and shape the game in such a way that it is more inclusive, less bogged down by mechanics, and generally more fun since interaction is the key to a great story.
