Just a feeler - I want to run a Paranoia game possibly in a week/ week and half's time. It will be very frantic requiring a small amount of people posting frantically.. like frantic things.. or being shot with lasers or laser with blazers.
Zap zap zap....
bleed bleed bleed...
As soon as I get a rule book I will want to be running it..
The last time was TroubleShooters VS the Rebels (a star wars cross over theme with TieFighters)
This time I think it may be Troubleshooters of the Lost Ark

If I send pick for avatar can I send it to you or just post in my profile. Willlog in with a clone name. Hope I still have info on how to do PC.

Certainly you can.. as ever my email addy is Admin at Barroks - Tower dot net.
Sorry about spelling it out.. I get loads of spam.. tone of it.. but yes I can mess around with your avatar.
I have been thinking more about the game and the team of trouble shooters are going to be sent to try to get the Ark of the Cummerbund, though their have been others sighted in the INJ Sector dressed in Khaki uniforms shouting "Shnell" a lot.

"Hello Dave." Sidiva says in a Hal voice," Hope you don't mind I mentioned your game starting up to a dear paranoid friend of mine and he is interested in becoming a citizen. We play very well together. He will be contacting you. He is somewhere in the tower laying low because he is more paranoid than I"

Speaking of this devil Sidiva? Well as she said Barrok, I'm interested in joining the paranoia game. Must say, I'm a bit...chaotic. I hope that will be ok. I wouldn't exactly say loose cannon chaotic...more along the lines of loose atom bomb chaotic. :D. In any event, how do you do your character creations?

Chaotic is cool...
I have just received Paranoia XP today which is slightly different to 2nd edition Paranoia stat wise.. but I will go into specifics in another post....

As a paranoia noob, the game sounds VERY FUN INDEED. But I feel a noobie may drag down play a bit for you more experienced players, unless someone is willing to teach me if I get my hands on a Paranoia book?
*waits patiently in line, pulling a ticket from the dispenser, 986?! The neon display sign pings for the next customer to step forward. The number displayed on the screen is....7?! Crying he carries on waiting*

Truth is, it's probably more fun when you are new, caust learning as you go is kind of the point. So noobies will actually have an easier time, cauase everything is supposed to be new to the characters. Any information you truely need will be provided at the beginning other than that, we all learn as we go. I may not be correct, but that's how I believe the game goes.

True enough, in Paranoia knowledge is a dangerous thing.
Of course .... everything is dangerous, but that's besides the point :D

What system does it run on? d20? Will I need to read a book or can I pretty much just go ahead and join in?

I had played Paranoia at least a couple of times before I looked at the book; actually I seem to remember there is something in the book that tells players to stop reading after the first chapter, because the rest would spoil the game.
I am sure Barrok will explain whatever rules need applying before the game starts.

its a non d20 game where you will need a d20 and that is the only dice you will need.... do you understand the concept already - knowing the rules is treason...
In paranoia you used to have just 6 clones... this has changed you get 6 free clones.. then after that you can pay for further clones though this introduces a more erratic copy from the template in other words by the clone 10 - you are talking Quasimodo!!
Paranoia is the game where you are a troubble shooter tasked by the computer to root out all commie traitors, members of secret societies and un registered mutants. Though you are a member of a secret society and you have a mutant power... if people find out about these you will be called a traitor. Being a traitor is punishable by at worst death, this will make you cautious.. but not unhappy. As unhappy people are traitors.. happiness is mandatory.. Those who are not happy might just be given a few pills to ingest or perhaps a huge psych evaluation.. hey you may even be told to throw a party to cheer yourself up.
Are you starting to understand the nature of Paranoia?

Interestingly enough. You can't get very far in the game without trusting anyone yet the purpose of the game makes it so if you trust anyone, you put yourself in serious risk. Expect the unexpected. MWHAHAHAHAHA

All people have been chosen randomly - would the Computer lie to you? Full character sheets have been posted out to your e mail containing any treasonous information. All treason information will be punished by death. If you would want to talk to the GM involved in the game about said "Treasonous Information" please PM him or perhaps even do a google search, though use of third party information may be counted as treason. Are you having fun yet?
If you feel that you have been unjustly type cast as a different gender the GM will change your gender (On the character sheet - he is not a doctor)
The character sheets were generated by the clever application found at this site and thus stopped the GM wasting hours of Die Rolling.
