Mountaineer's Leather Armour
If lether armour could be mixed with a climbers harness than a clever gnome has already taken the initiative. This +1 Leather Armour has been sewn to hold several metal loops which will help a climber when using ropes (+6 to climb when using ropes - can climb at normal base speed without penalty), not to mention the added usefulness of having equipment which can be clipped to the body instead of rummaging through a backpack. The armour is also enchanted to protect the climber from the cold (resistance to cold:10) as well as they are unaffected by the thinning air at greater heights.
