In the days where Barrok was hiding from the armies of holy light he realised to get rid of these holy warriors he must tap into the unfathomed evils of the universe. When casting the the spell every good aligned creature caught with in the burst radius must make there save or die, if they make their save they suffer 2d10 points of damage. All neutral aligned creature on the good/evil axis must make their save or be confused for 2d4 rounds, otherwise they are dazed (as per condition) for 1 round. It does not affect evil aligned creatures as well as the caster.

And again, make this Range: Short 25' + 5'/2 levels

I would say that the level is too low for the effect, I am thinking 7th/8th level myself.

Drop the confusion effect to 2d4 rounds duration.
