Half-breeds? what? why?

Too many societies for my brain to comprehend, just seems like terrible crossbreeding has gone to another level.

Though out of context, all of those half breeds look well balanced and awesome.

Hmm a dwarf orc, you couldnt be any more of an outcast could you... :D

Well, I have been doing some researching, and discovered that a friend of mine might need these, so I was going to have some play testing. however, upon reflection and some important criticizing from others (which I appreciate, every little bit helps me add to the depth of the world) I will not have these in my world at all, but please feel free to continue to comment so that I can give a final version complete with origins (it isn't your usual crossbreeding, there is genetic manipulation involved) to my friend. I appreciate all the commentary, and I am very happy to see that everyone loves the idea of racially pure world.

If you were going to come up with a nice genetic manipulated race, maybe go all evil and fuse demon flesh with orc?

Would be a quite tempestuous being...

Why do the crossbreeds get almost all of the bonuses from their parent races? Why would half-halflings, for example, retain the +1 to all saves of the halfling?

Well, basically it has to do with the genetic manipulation of the halflings DNA and another's creature, plus some other mishappenings during their "creation". Mockerels were orginally intended to be the scientific result of the Eugenicist quest for perfection. Besides, in some cases, a +1 to all saves is nice when there is a minus 4 to strength and little else to balance it.. Still working out the kinks though... If anyone has insight, please inform me.

I just feel that some of these go beyond the boundary of believability. Take the Elf Orc for example, I just feel that living has become his enemy and would kill himself the first chance he got. Now I can actually see a couple these happening, like the Gnome Halfling. Now see that as a possibility.

That being said I feel you should probably change their favored class to one class. I also think the ability score bonuses and deductions could some more balancing out.

And if you are genetically modifying the races, presumably you are doing it for a purpose. So you should have 'end result' races:

Warrior-Race
+2 Strength, +2 Con, -2 Int, -2 Wis, -2 Chr
Illiterate (as the Barbarian trait)
Low-light vision
Endurance as a bonus feat
Racial proficiency with all simply weapons
+2 racial bonus to saves against fear
Bloodlust, must make a DC 10 Will save to withdraw from melee combat.
Favored class: Barbarian

Worker-Race
+2 Dex, -2 Int, +2 Wis, -2 Chr
All Craft skills are always Class skills
Gains Skill Focus (any one craft skill) as a bonus feat
Endurance as a bonus feat
-2 racial penalty on saves against mind-effecting spells and abilities
Favored class: Expert

Just a thought.

I like that idea Knight, I will fiddle some more with it and send it off to my friend who is looking for them. Thanks for the input thus far.

dwarf gnome

-2 str, +4 con, -2 cha
small
low light vision
+2 vs. poisons
+2 versus spells
+2 on appraise checks
Stability
Favored class: fighter/bard[/b]

Does anyone else think of Aghar (Gully Dwarves) when they see this?

I also find Elf/Orc somewhat odd-as Elves and Orcs are natural enemies. I suspect this would be exceedingly rare.

As Regnier has said, some of them I find hard to wrap my head around, such as the Orc/Gnome, or Orc/Halfling. Its kinda hard to believe that a Halfling or a Gnome would give birth to something which could end up much larger than its parent.

I played a half-orc/half-elf once, he had a rough life.

Exactly, these races will have a horrible existence, mocked, bullied, and hated for no reason other than that they are twisted visages of the purity they strove so hard to protect.
