DM Note: Ak'iss will be fully defensive in battle, until we can find out what happened to his player.
The gnolls spread out and attempt to attack the dwarf, elf, orc, halfling and gnome.
Belthic - The gnoll slobbers as its flail flies through the air and hits the earth where the dwarf once stood.
Dariat - The seemingly enlarged gnoll swings and catches your chest with its full might (critical, confirmed) and the metallic weapon crushes several ribs as you feel the wind knocked out of you. (12 damage)
Gummsh - the gnoll bellows a cry of hatred at your visage, and swings wildly, missing you by a half a foot.
Pinvadd - the creature screams and pounces on you smacking you shoulder with its flail, bringing some of its weight down to bear, but you manage to keep your balance. You know that will leave quite the bruise in the morning.. (6 damage)
Lottie - the gnoll attempts to swing at you, and manages to bypass your protection as well as your armor, catching you in the right leg, causing pain to shoot through you as it hit a nerve (6 damage)

Advancing on the Gnoll, it gets the first attack swinging its flail at me. I sidestep to the right and use the momentum to thrust as hard as I can. attack (1d20+6=21) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1524235/) connecting solidly threw the shoulder tearing through flesh and bone causing dam (1d8+5=11) (http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/1525877/)

You strike a hardy blow to the creature, who howls in pain, dropping its weapon and clutching the bleeding wound. It growls and glares at you.

Um. Hadn't even intended to get involved in another brawl... but the gnolls seem to have other ideas. At least one of them has... try to gather my scattered wits and scramble out of the way....

Belthic glares at the one who tried to crush his skull, and digs his feet in, casting bless on Bless on all his companions.

Does the effect of bless stack? So we are all +2 now?
CountFalchiezVander
14th March 2008, 03:45 PM
DM Note: No one else cast bless, only magic weapon and a protection from evil spell, so there is only the plus one morale bonus. The magic weapon gives your weapon a +1 enhancement, which will stack.

OOC: That was done in the main thread wasn't it? Just a little note for the future, if you plan to do something in advance of the battle, write it in both, that way I won't forget it. Bethic's Bless will aid the merchants being attacked by regular gnolls instead, at least 50 feet away from you.

Ak'iss remains fully defensive, preparing to heal those wounded.
The gnolls swing at Lottie, Gummsh, Pinvadd, Dariat and Belthic once again, screaming in battle lust.
Lottie: The gnoll's weapon arcs towards your head, swinging over it by about three inches, crashing into the side of a wagon. It pulls it back quickly, slobbering.
Gummsh: the creature swings wildly, its flail like weapon smashing nothing more than the earth where your foot used to be.
Pinvadd: The gnoll snarls and whips its weapon like it is an extension of its body, catching directly in the face (critical, confirmed) Your eyes water and you feel nauseated as the light headed feeling washes over you (14 points)
Dariat: The gnoll spins wildly around, trying to copy the one who struck Pinvadd, but ends up missing its intended mark: you.
Belthic: the gnoll smashes down, but hits only the armor of the dwarf, causing him to step an inch or so back, but does not phase him.

You notice that four of the gnolls stop for a moment, their howling slowing down as what appears to be fear comes over them. The fifth continues his onslaught unabated.
Belthic deftly weaves his way to Pinvadd, defensively casting a healing spell on the gnome.

Ak'iss looks around and sees the one that is not relenting at all, and defensively casts a spell at it. The gnoll stops, screams in what sounds like terror and bolts into the forest, provoking an attack of opportunity from Belthic, who misses completely as he is taken by surprise. The other four remain and fight on, attacking Pinvadd, Lottie, Gummsh and Dariat.
Pinvadd - This gnoll seems to have a little less rage in his swing as the weapon comes down, glancing off your armor
Lottie - the gnoll weaves about with its flail, swings towards your knees, and connecting with your shin (8 points)
Gummsh - The gnoll heaves forward and swings, his flail arcing through the air and onto the ground, a good foot away from you.
Dariat - The gnoll snarls and grins evilly as it side steps, bringing the flail up to connect with your chin....but mis judges the distance, and the flail flies through the air with all the creatures might behind it, causing it to fall backwards onto the ground, its weapon sailing through the air.

The remaining gnolls continue to do battle against the orc, elf, gnome and dwarf.
Belthic - The gnoll smacks the dwarf on the chest, denting the armor, but not causing serious damage.
Gummsh - The gnoll snarls, but attacks more cautiously, delivering a blow to your lower right leg (8 damage)
Dariat - the gnoll tries to rise to its feet, giving you a chance to smack it.
Pinvadd - The gnoll blathers on about something in giant, swinging and missing.

Ak'iss remains on the defensive, preparing to throw healing spells anyones way. The gnolls attack, but with less enthusiasm now.
Gummsh - the gnoll roars and swings, narrowly missing your armor
Pinvadd - the gnoll screams, swinging downwards, trying to get your skull, but crashes down a full foot away from where you stand.
Belthic - The gnoll regains its balance enough to use forward momentum to swing powerfully at the dwarf, but misses completely.
You hear sounds of victory coming from above you, and notice there are several merchants wielding flaming spears running towards the gnolls.

The remaining gnolls prepare for a full out onslaught on the orc, when a horn blows in the distance to the east. They perk their ears, and each throws a small capsule on the ground, light and smoke spew forth and encompass the area, when it clears, they rest have vanished, as if by magic, even the dead ones are gone....
