The Grove of True Love
When humankind was still in its infancy, gods walked the earth and during their many sojourns around the world their divine grace enchanted many places permanently. The gods of many pantheons whose domain included love met in such a place noted for its serene beauty where they would talk for days of stories of love being lost and love being found. Such stories infused with their deitific magic infused the grove with their own quintessential beauty.
Five centuries ago the Grove was discovered by 5 warring demon princes who had escaped the confines of the Abyss to reign their unholy war elsewhere, coming across such a place was an anathema to them and their fighting and bickering stopped instantly as they saw a greater prize – the corruption of True Love. Over the course of 3 tortuous years they twisted the beauty of the grove to hide a darker and more sinister side to its power. When it was completed they made their way back to the Abyss except for one who stayed to test all mortals who would find the place.
This was until an Elven Arch Druid of tremendous power ventured into the grove and after a tremendous battle vanquished the demon prince. He was visisted by a strange vision where the gods asked him to be the Guardian of the Grove, a person chosen to promote True Love in an age of strife, destruction and tyranny. Since his pledge to uphold the values of True Love and the sanctity of the Grove many a couple have journeyed there to pledge their troth to one another, unfortunately a few have died because of their unworthiness.
Lore: Characters can gain the following information about The Grove of True Love by making a Knowledge (religion) check at the appropriate DCs given below.
DC15: The Grove of True Love is a beautiful place which has been infused with the powers of many of the gods of love.
DC25: An Arch Druid oersees the area and all who draw from the grove are blessed in their relationships.
DC35: Five hundred years ago the Grove was corrupted by five demon princes. Any person who is unfaithful or falls out of love is doomed.
Description: The Grove is locatedmidway up a large hill over looking a deep blue lake. Every tree is huge, healthy and verdant green all year round. In the center of the grove is a hude marbel bench
Prerequisites: Only a couple in Love can harness the power of The Grove.
Location Activation: The couple must sit on the marble bench for an hour. If interrupted then they gain no benefit.
Recharge: Once it has given its ability to a couple. The Grove cannot do so to another couple for three months.
Special Ability (EX): The couple gain +2 to all skill rolls when they are with 30ft of one another. If there is any sexual contact between each other during the three months there is a 95% chance per contact that the female will become pregnant.
Special: If either person falls out of love or is unfaithful during the three months then a horrendous fate befalls them both. 1d6 succubi are immediated "gated" to where the guilty party is and they are under an invisibility spell. They are bound to the plane until the guilty party has died then they immediately return to the Abyss – it has been known when they are facing High Level characters to take their time setting up death traps and other trials to befall them. The innocent party immediately knows of the loss of love or the foul indiscretion in complete vivid detail, they must instantly make a will save (DC25) or go insane (as per spell) from grief.
