Tanin Gut
Transmutation
Level: Druid 0, Ranger 1
Components: V
Casting Time 1 round
Range: self
Effect: personal
Duration: One hour/lvl
Save Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell was first invented by a druid who found himself going hungry in a section of woods that had been over-hunted. He had already wiped out the perpetrators of the slaughter, but the land was still stripped of game. Looking around, he found nothing but acorns; this spell allows a person to eat acorns for the duration without being poisoned by the tanin they contain. Even without tanin, acorns are far from the most nurishing food, but they can do in a pinch...

I did, in fact, think of that last point, but decided to simply ignore that particular bit of realism (this is D&D, after all :D). If you feel the need to justify it, just say that the spell causes your stomach to instantly neutralize the tanin, so that if you eat the stuff during the duration it has no effect even after the spell wears off.

makes me think of the buddhist monks who eat tree bark in a certain ritual they try to self mummify themselves by ingesting resins.

nice spell though

yeah a good spell but it should go for more than acorns it should nullify all posions from plant based foods i think that would be better

yeah that is true but i still think there should be a limited duration spell that nullifies most posions in plant based food
