As I have been reviewing the first Pathfinder adventure series, The Rise of the Runelords, from Paizo, I've been itching to run it, but the local mob prefer contemporary/future settings.

Would you good folks be interested?

I would be :)

The Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide is available as a free download from http://paizo.com/pathfinder/v5748btpy7xpx

If those interested would care to have a read and think about suitable characters based on the guidelines therein, and announce their interest here.... and I shall make a plea for a place to run it in.

How interesting.. MY local playgroup will be running this adventure in the near future, after a few other games clue up. I would like to participate in yours Lady Mexal, so that I will be ale to aid the DM in his.

Have a chat with your DM - see if he'd prefer you as a player or an assistant. Especially as forum games tend to progress slower than tabletop ones.

Usually I act as rules lawyer for our game sessions, since the only other person with as much experience in the game is our DM, and we have one of those "But this book says this so" kind of players. I am hoping that this pathfinder experience will help him when he tries this out.

With only one taker and someone who may or may not particpate depending on his home group, I think this is a non-starter :-(

thats a pity I was going to have a look at the rules to see if they seem a viable game or not.. bum

mexal

Have a look - if you are interested it is approaching viable - I'd ideally want 4 players but 3 would do.

I want to run it, just looked like people weren't interested. Still willing if a player or two turns up!

Somehow managed to double-post. Think my bad hand twitched :-)

I am still interested, so all I need from you is any restrictions you place. I got the file downloaded now, and was reading it, so hopefully there will be enough interest.

Good - if Trinitymatrix still wants to play and if Barrok decides he wants to, then I'll run.

You start at 1st level, either as a resident of Sandpoint or with a good reason to be there. Races &c. according to the Rise of the Runelords Player's Guide, otherwise standard D&D 3.5, including supplementary rulebooks (please reference things you want from other than core books). 36-point-buy for statistics, full HP at first level, maximum starting gold ('cos I'm nice like that).

May I have a corner to run in, please?

You want the character's messaged to you, or wait until you get a corner?

I was wondering at what level are you hoping the Pc's finish at in the Pathfinder adventure?

mexal
3rd February 2008, 01:30 PM
For the first adventure, or the whole series?

You ought to be 3rd-4th level by the end of Burnt Offerings, if we see it through to the end characters will be at the 18th-20th level point.

Perfect, as soon as you get the space, I'll post my character.

I'd love to be included too. I will take a gander at the rules and everything ASAP . Thanks .

:ooc: Just a quick question. How well would a paladin or cleric fit into the 'defending the temple from the goblins during the consecration ceremony '??
just wondering so i know what kind of PC to create.
Thanks .

Love to have you. I'm sure someone of the god-bothering professions would be welcome.

In absence of our corner (hello Skurvy, may we have a home?) would those considering playing please post an indication of their race/class choices to aid everyone in their planning.

I'm interested in it so I downloaded the info. I'll look it over and edit this post with my character idea.

Male whisper gnome ninja starting out, [/b]
You start out as a ninja? So your really a merchant than? :)
Where is the ninja class?

I am planning upon final approval,
(though I wanted to wait for everyone to post so I could suprise everyone)

A female centaur, wanna be sorcerer.

CountFalchiezVander

First things first, Ninja is in the Complete Adventurer, check it out, it is really interesting when combined with specific other classes.

Second, since we are starting at first level, you can only play a centaur if you go the Savage Species route and use the racial hit Dice as monster class levels, which stretch over 6 levels due to the +2 level adjustment they have on top of the hit dice. So basically, when we are level 7, you will be taking your first official class level, kind of chancy. Just look in the Monstrous Manual, you may find a race that is slightly better.

I have spoken to the GM about this, and I am willing to do this, she has also allowed me to
take other levels on my way up to the '6th' level centaur, so I could be a '3rd' level centaur and a
1st level sorcerer.

CountFalchiezVander

So does that mean she is dropping off level adjustments or allowing us to start at 4th level, I need to know so I can make a few notes.

No I am a 1st level centaur with d8 hp and few of the other adjustmetns and I will
advance that way. 'Races of the wild' booklet

CountFalchiezVander

alrighty then.

mexal
6th February 2008, 07:42 PM
That's correct - you are all starting at 1st level.

Do you need any rulings on your Ninja, CountFalchiezVander?

CountFalchiezVander
7th February 2008, 03:05 AM
Are there any? I mean, it is straight out of the Complete Adventurer, so I have all the stats, abilities and restrictions. If you have some specific rules or themes regarding them in the Pathfinder adventures, then please let me know, so I can take them into account.

Regnier_Leinhart

If this still has any chance of happening I'd be willing to do a Human Paladin.

mexal
11th February 2008, 11:33 AM
It has every chance of happening - I'm just waiting on somewhere to run it. And a human paladin will be more than welcome.

mexal

We seem to now have a home... and 2 characters found it before their DM did [can't remember the code for a blushing smilie].

Please come on over...

Lurkers welcome as well, and may post in the OOC thread only.
