Range: Close (25' +5/2' level)
Duration: 1 Hour
Saving Throw: Will nagates (harmless)
SR: Yes (harmless)

The great warrior bat spirit Marcoidese is summoned and it changes the target into a fierce creature. The target grows giant bat wings from his/her back (30' fly - average) and the ability to create a flaming longsword in on of his/her hands (treat as a +3 Flaming burst longsword) The sword takes 1 full round action to call forth or dismiss.

Material Component: an onyx neclace in the shape of a bat worth 500gp

Focus: Has to be performed in a cave complex, at night.

Backlash: After the incantaio9n is finished the incantor is exhausted

Xp Cost: The cost is 200 XP

If two consecutive rolls are failed then the target and the incantor are polymorphed into a bat without save for 1d6 hours

I like this spell especially since one must burn XP. Must think before casting. We have Epic 10-12 lvl tthat can cause a mage to go insane, possiably forever depending on die roll. Not being a mage I don't have access to them

I do like invocations oir whatever they are called in Unearthed Arcana - it has a great way of handling magic where you have to make a lot of rolls to get a certain outcome. I would implore anyone to go to their game shop and look at the book just to read the magic section, it really helps give a few ideas of what can be done even within the current system
