Barrok was amused by the way people spent all their hard earned gold for month's in advance of one little day, surely there was some deep magic here.
If the target creature is affected by this spell they must forthwith go and spend all their money on presents for their friends, family and even random strangers every day. When they run out of cash, they can make another saving throw or they start selling their items to get money to purchase fancy goods for people. Every time they have to sell an item they get another save to break the spell.
