Hello, everyone. My name (at least online) is Rafeal Domieras Ixeian (or Rafe Ixeian). I've been wandering around the boards for a very long time, and have enjoyed reading it all, so I finally decide I should register and say hello.

I haven't actually played in a long time, but I do act as a G/DM every once in a while. Back when I was a player, it was generally a D&D3.5 campaign, and I DMed in the same, but can't say that I liked it too much. So looking to fix what I saw as huge flaws, I have developed a couple of systems, all of which revolve around increasing the players' freedom, while at the same time setting things up for a bit of extra creativity. Even so they seem (and have shown to be) for the most part balanced.

Truth is I'm signing up because I miss DMing, and am hoping to find people willing to do an online campaign. It'll (probably) have to be in either one of my own systems or someone else's system, since I no longer have my D&D books. Let me know if you're interested. I'd like to have at least 2 players, although I'm more used to doing 4 or 5. I am willing to do even a one player campaign, though, if that's all I can attract. As for style, it can be either a forum- or a chat-based system, and I'll accept suggestions for ways to send things like maps/floorplans and images around (for those places where pictures are nice).

Let me know if you're interested at all.

Apart from that, I'm a programmer, studying at University right now (but even during exams I usually have too much time on my hands). If programming doesn't work out, I'll probably become a writer, despite how big a leap it is from one to the other. Uhmm.... and I'm generally not this long-winded, so I'll stop now.

Actually, one more thing (to Barrok/Scurvy): Every time you post a competition, I get at least one or two ideas, but I never post them because I have no interest in the rewards (or giving out details like my address online). I would still like to put them somewhere where they're likely to be noticed so I can get some feedback.....any suggestions?

Personally I would still bung them into the competition archive and then we can give feedback. I can try to remember that it is not really an entry but at least it will be with like minded posts for a while.

:welcome: My friends and I use photobucket [forgive me if I'm not suppose to mention other sights] to post maps, character portraits ect. for our ventrilo chat games.I also reccommend you try chat here at the tower, the built in dice bot is like the greatest artifact I have found for gaming.True artifact creation masterwork! I want one for x-mas.

Photobucket is free, and all you need is to share the acct. name and password with your players so everyone can up/download from it [even view it at the same time].

Thanks for that. I actually hadn't heard of it before, and it looks like a pretty good solution for most things.

And thanks everyone for the welcome. It'll be a pleasure to chat with you all here.

Welcome Friend,

I would be interested in hearing about your system before I commit. Still haven't figured out AC and Thac0 in 2nd after 9 years [others do it for me] Just learning 3.5 no books.

I am in 3 yahoo groups games [pbem] and you have the ability to upload files. I like this format at Tower better. Let me know about your game.

^_^ Not much to tell Surionya! It's pretty much any table top game over ventrilo and we use the chat room with built in dice bot here to roll out the dice in front of everyone with no need to check your email for every roll! That is what originally lured e into the tower, all their toys!

The photobucket allows a group to post anything they pretty much want, maps, portraits, character sheets ect.Closest thing I can get to actual tanle top with my scattered brothers and good friends.

I would reccommend this style of play to any group. If not for my swing shift schedule,I'd be here all the time joining games!Been itching to actually play some here, just never seem to be able to fit into my sched.

It also helps to actually browse around the tower...they started a few games months ago I woulda loved to try,but I never looked deep enough into the tower to realize the games had begun [I'm kinda the lounge lizard here, usually just hanging round the lounge.]...Yep Surionya, took me this long before I realized you were speaking to Rafe' :pardon:

Yeah, share some details about the system you actually intend to gm,can't share an interest if I don't know what we're actually talking about...well ok so I have never let that stop me before, what can I say?I'm a curious fellow! [and not in the Smiling Bandit kinda curious way...]
