Salutations to all, I am Count Vander, new to the forums, but an old hand at the RP lifestyle. I wish to merely make my presence known to all, and look forward to various discussions in the future.

Well, I have been playing D&D for 12 years now, starting with AD&D and up through the ranks. I also tried some Vampire the Masquerade, Legend of the Five Rings RPG, Star Wars RPG, and even a few my group created.
As for war Stories, the best ones were with my first group, where I learned the ropes. I was tossed a character and thrown right in the mix, using a cleric of Paladine. My comrades were a giant elf, a human fighter who loved to cook and a Scottish pirate turned knight with firbolg parents. My cleric actually had to debate his deity in order to raise his comrade (on more than one occasion) and he learned to be respectful but resentful of the Gods.
When I started with 3rd and its follow up, I didn't really have a favorite build, I just tried to play something fun and that no one would expect me to play. That is when Krook was created. To this day, back at my old University where I played, the stories still circulate of his great heroics and incredibly dumb yet gentle wisdom. I have him built to about 60th level somewhere, and he only knows 60 words of common, and still only has an intelligence of 8 or 9, can cast fling spells with the best of them. Infact, my signiture is from the last session I used him in. I had to get a PC into the dungeon so he met up with a orc pulling a sleigh, so the orc looked him up and down and simply said door, and a door appeared before the pc. He looked to me and said " I follow." and the group simply looked at the character and me and then epic Nightwish music came on in the background, and all was glorious.
The other character I am most fond of is a Chaos gnome bard battle dancer who is also a spy and working to pit the celestials against the infernals again, and whomever wins will be destroyed by the other races, sort of a grand coup of the cosmos. He is rather friendly and eccentric, and the party hates going anywhere without him. Infact, they would rahter him in the party then the cleric.

Oh yes, he is great fun to play, and I have a habit of running through every book with a creature to find other races that can be fun to play, as long as the LA or HD aren't too high. Speaking of which, what do people think of a tiefling sky pirate? It has been catching my eye since Halloween, as well as a dwarven barbarian bard using UA rules.

Blast you, Lapis Lazuli! Blast your do-goodery type deeds! Drat! I'll get you yet, you blasted hero type!
While I'm here I should warn you that I have a surgeon general's warning on me. I am detrimental to your wallet or purse, and on occasion, and with the help of a shiny penny, can cause stitches and breathlessness from forced bouts of laughter, but only on occasion. It seems I am much more funny to myself than to others.
Welcome and I'm derned glad you could meet me!
