Crippling Revelation
Divination, Level 4
Components: V, S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area of Effect: Close / One intelligent humanoid
Duration: Varies
Saving Throw: Will negates
Spell Resist?: Yes

Reaching into the future, this spell bestows upon the target images of his/her own death. Although some targets will die peacefully in the future, this spell draws out and intensifies feelings of fear, emptiness, pain, anxiety, despair and other negative emotions, combining them together and imprinting them on the target. This victim's reaction to these images varies on the strength of his will power.

On a failed save, note the amount by which the target failed his save. The degree of failure indicates the severity of the effect upon the target. Consult the following chart:

Failed by: / Effect:

-1: Dazed for one round, shaken for 1d4 rounds afterward.
-2: Flees in fear for 1d4 rounds, and is shaken for 2d6 rounds afterward.
-3: Stunned for 1d6 rounds, shaken for 1d6 hours afterward.
-4: Paralyzed for 2d6 rounds, shaken for 2d6 hours, afterward.
-5 to -9: Rendered unconscious for 1d6 hours (nothing can wake him).
-10 or worse: Reduced to 0 wisdom and rendered comatose for 1d6 days.

The trauma caused by this spell fades within 24 hours. The PC is unable to describe or recall the images of his future death, similar to the experience of having a VERY bad dream that you can no longer remember.
