Visceral Blade
Necromancy [Evil]
Level: Clr 3, Sor/Wiz 4
Components: V, S, DF
Casting Time: One action
Target: Self
Duration: 1 round/level (D)
Saving Throw: Fort (Partial)
Spell Resistance: Yes

The veins and blood pool in the hand of the caster as it immediately shapes into an oozing and sharp longsword. The sword itself is an extension of the caster and may never be sundered away from them. On attack the sword is counted a Keen longsword with a +1 every 5 level enchantment (Max +4), if the sword hits a target they must make a fort save or be nausiated for 1d6 rounds, if they save they are at -1 to attack rolls for 1 round. The nausiating power does not effect Constucts, Plants, Oozes, Outsiders or Undead. When the sword causes actual damage to a creature which can be effected by the nausiated power the blade transfers 1hp to the weirlder giving them a temporary hp. Temporary hitpoints in excess of the caster's regular hit point maximum fade after an hour.
When the spell finishes the blood which has made the sword falls to the floor and the caster feels weakened for 1 minute per round of the spell existing(treat as fatigued).

Looks good... except.. Do they need blood from an outside source...? Like a bleeding enemy or can they take thier own blood.. what does that do to them?

OO I have editied it

After the spell ends the blood which has made the sword falls to the floor thus the caster is weakend but to counteract this the sword has now Keen properties!! I was tempted to give it vampiric qualities but that would have pushed the spell level up to much.

maybe reduce the fatigue.. to 5 minutes or something.. An hour is a long time to be fatigued for a lower level spell... but it is keen

changed to 1 minute per round of the spell exisiting - so the longer you depend on the sword the more fatigued you will be.

I would suggest the following changes:

"The visceral blade cannot be disarmed or sundered and it immediately dissolves (ending the spell) if the wielder releases it."

"When the sword causes damage to a creature which can be effected by the nausiated power the blade transfers 1hp to the wielder healing them, hp in excess of the caster's regular hit point maximum are temporary hps and fade after an hour."

I was thinking the spell could actually be used in more than one way.

Caster's Blood: creates the enitire blade (as per the spells effects), and add a +1 modifier per 5 hitpoints used up (temporary loss) with the same maximum of modifiers.

Blood of others: adds keen to any edged weapon (nausiated effect still intact).

i like this idea for a spell, but the use of the characters own blood may cause problems. i would suggest a higher level maybe so they don't get as affected as they would, or would the character just kinda risk it because they basically know what they are getting in to??
