Soul Syphon
The Soul Syphon is a magical artifact, created by an evil necromancer. The bearer of the Soul Syphon gains all the Abilities, and many of the knowledges of it's prior owners. Most of it's owners in the past have been necromancers, but not all, The Soul Syphon was even once worn by a thief who stole it from a crypt.
On the down side, the Soul Syphon grafts it's self to anyones chest who put it on. Then it begins to bargin with the host, as it becomes a sybiot once joined. It offers power and glory, in exchange for the host's soul. If the host refuses the Soul Syphon will gradually assert it's own will over the wearer until their alignment is altered enough to accept... this time period of independence is the only possible time to have the Soul Syphon removed, a powerful remove curse or wish spell will remove it.
Note: The Soul Syphon prevents all attempts at accomplishing undeath, even though other magics may be used to extend one's life... death will come and when it does the Soul Syphon will claim it's prise.
