Spell Name: Martial Touch

School: Transmutation

Level: Sor/Wiz 4

Components: V, S

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Personal

Target or Effects or Area: One weapon or missile

Duration: 1 round per 2 caster levels

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

By means of this spell the caster is able to enchant a weapon so that it can be used to channel touch spells through it. This spell can be cast on any melee weapon or missile, such as an arrows, javelins, shuriken, or thrown daggers. The weapon must be handled by the caster in order for the spell to be effective. If the weapon is enchanted and given to someone else then the spell is broken.

The weapon will deliver any touch based spell cast during its duration. More than one spell can be channeled through the weapon during its enchantment, but no more than one per round. The touch spells must still be cast normally. If this weapon is used by someone other than the caster, it must be touched to imbue it with the touch spells to be used.

This spell also grants the user the same effects as a true strike spell. (Granting +20 to hit)

(I.e. this spell can be used to enchant a sword to deliver an “Inflict Light Wounds” spell. If the weapon hit then it would not only cause its normal damage, but also the “Inflict” damage.)

If the attack roll fails, the touch spell is wasted unless it has a duration other than instantaneous.

VERY overpowered. Touch attacks are intentionally more powerful than ranged for the very reason that they require you to put yourself (or at least your highly-vulnerable familiar) at risk to pull them off. This spell, at a mere lvl2, completely cirumvents that restriction and for more than a single spell. I might see this working if it only worked for the next touch spell cast and applied a penalty of some kind to either the attack roll or the save DC. Even so, it might have to be boosted a level or two...

Can I get a second opinion on this from the forum?
