Sovereign Rod of the Lion
An eon ago the king of a huge city state worried that he was losing sway over his subjects, beseeching the gods his Archmage and Arch Priest were given the same dream of a bone rod with a lion’s face at one end and a large fist sized diamond at the other. Heroes were dispatched to the very corners of the world to find such a diamond and a rare bone from an ancient gold dragon. After 10 years of questing all the components were assembled as both the archmage and the Arch Priest toiled for 3 whole years over it. People saw how the work was taking the very life-force out of them both and rumours were abound of them being vessels for the gods and therefore their lives burning brighter and faster than others.
The final day came when the Arch Priest who was the only survivor of the grand artifice gave the rod to his king and with it he ruled wisely for centuries.
The Rods powers are:-
The wielder of the rod natural lifespan increases by twenty fold and they suffer no penalty loss due to aging. If they are apart from the rod for more than 7 days then they lose this ability and their lifespan returns to normal. If they have lasted to live longer than their original lifespan – they die immediately.
The wielders leadership score (if they have a leadership feat) increases by 30
They gain +2 luck bonus to all saves
They are total immune to fear when the rod is held.
1/day they can dominate 1 creature with 100ft of the rod as if using a Dominate Monster Spell (DC21)
1/day The Lions head is able to roar (treat as Greater Shout – CL16) (DC21)
Artefact
