Strike of Undeath

Necromancy [Evil, Undead]

Level: Clr 6, Sor/Wiz 7

Components: V, S, M

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Personal

Target or Effects or Area: Caster

Duration: 1 round per 3 caster levels

Saving Throw: None

Spell Resistance: No

By means of this spell the caster is able to mimic the melee attacks of certain types of undead, once per round. The caster gains no physical changes to his body during this time, but does become vulnerable to attacks that would damage the undead type that he is mimicking. The types of undead attacks that can be mimicked are limited by the caster himself. He can only mimic undead attacks that he has personally been victim to. Below are a list of sample attacks and their effects:

Ghoul: 1d3 (+ STR) + Paralysis (1d4+1 rounds) (Fort: DC12)
Shadow: 1d6 strength drain (Fort: DC15) (1 hour per caster level)
Wight: 1d4+1 (+ STR) + 1d6 Cha drain (Fort: DC12) (1 hour per caster level)
Mummy: 1d6 (+ STR) damage + Mummy Rot (Fort: DC13)
Spectre: 1d8 (+ STR) damage + Forced Wraithform (As per the spell) (Fort: DC13)
Ghost: 1d4 points of ability drain (Fort: DC15) (1 hour per caster level)
Vampire: 1d6 (+ STR) damage + 1d6 con drain (Fort: DC15) (1 hour per caster level)
Lich: 1d8 (+ STR) damage + Paralyzation: Looks dead (1 hour per caster level) (Fort: DC15)

Note that there may be other types of attacks depending on what the caster has fallen victim to. (The above are just guidelines). The caster may also elect to change attack types at the beginning of each round if more than one type is available to him.

Material component: A pinch of dirt from a defiled grave.

personally I would not have the energy drain ones in their basically as awarding negaticve levels is quite a high level normaly... but maybe have a selection of the lesser undeadthus encompassin a lot of the earlier spells such as ghoul touch - vampiric touch.

Have the energy drain ones actually drain HPs and givem temporarily to the caster

I changed the spell to exclude the addition of negative levels. I also added the stipulation that at the beginning of each round the caster may change the attack type if more than one are available. This will make this spell far more useful than a multitude of lower level spells, but should it increase the level?

The maximum duration (at 20th level) is 5 rounds, so that is a maximum of 5 special attacks.
