“Marlin looked at a perfect clone of himself. The intruder made his move and Marlin responded with a magic missile. The intruder was taken aback. Marlin soon found himself a recipient of a shocking grasp spell by what appeared in all likeness of him. He swung his staff at the intruder and missed. However the intruder slashed him across the face with a dagger…

Marlins friends looked on as he stared into nothingness while wounds began to appear on his body.”

By means of this devious spell the caster is able to make the victim fight a perfect clone of himself mentally. The clone will have access to the same spells and items that the victim himself has. The battle will go as any other battle would with initiative, attack rolls and such.

This battle will be fought entirely within the mind of the victim and will only last for 10 rounds. If the victim is slain during this time, he must make a fortitude save or else be slain in real life. If the save is made, he is simply unconscious for as many hours as he was at negative hit points, exceeding the -10. (I.e. if the victim was taken to a total of -13 hit points he will remain unconscious for 3 hours).

During the duration of the spell the victim will be motionless and have a deep look of concentration on his or her face. Any outside stimulus will not rouse a victim from this spell. If the victim is damaged while the spell is in effect, both he and his clone will take the damage in the mental battle.

If the victim survives the mental battle, he will have all the wounds and damage that he incurred while in the battle. Any spells or item charges lost in the mental battle by him (Not used by the clone) will be lost to him when the spell effect ends.

The spell may be ended prematurely with a successful "Greater Dispel Magic" spell.

Might want to make a note of what spells can be used to dispel these effects, if any. At this level I doubt Dispel Magic would touch it, but maybe Greater Dispel Magic?

Other than that, this seems like a really nasty, well-thought out spell.
