Spell Name: Stigma

School: Enchantment (Mind Affecting)

Level: Sorc/Wiz 4, Clr 3, Brd 5

Components: V, S

Casting Time: 1 action

Range: Touch

Target or Effects or Area: Creature Touched

Duration: 1 day per caster level

Saving Throw: Special (See Below)

Spell Resistance: Yes

By means of this spell the caster is able to mark a victim with a terrible fate. The caster speaks the word of invocation and makes the somatic gesture and the victim is struck upon the forehead with an invisible force. The force burns for a brief second at which time the mark is visible. A fortitude save will negate the spell at this time. After the mark fades the victim may never be aware of its existence.

Any who see the mark must make a will save. Those who make the save suffer no effects whatsoever; the mark remains unseen by them. Those who fail the save will see upon the victim a mark of the most offensive nature for that particular person. For people of good nature, the mark appears of the vilest sort. For those of evil bent, the mark appears to be of pure good. For those of Neutral bent, the mark is simply offensive.

All creatures who fail there save are able to see the mark. If they are not of the same alignment on the good/evil axis, the victim suffers a -4 penality to any social skills whilst dealing with the target. The onlookers will go out of there way to try to shun the target and if cornered will react violently to them. For any being of the same alignment who can see the mark, the victim will suffer -2 to all social skills and the onlookers just try to shun them.

A dispel magic spell cast on the user will remove the mark if an opposed roll versus the original caster is made.

I like the idea behiond this spell but I think it could do with a little something - the old catagory system was dumped so instead of the you could say that ......

"All creatures who fail there save and are of not of the same alignment on the good/evil axis suffer a -4 penality to any social skills whilst dealing with the target. They will go out of there way to try to shun the target and if cornered will react violently to them. Anu being of the same alignment will suffer -2 to all social skills and just try to shun them."

The school is a good choice - you should add in the discriptor [mind affecting]

With it burning for a brief secon you could also have the taget creature taking 1d6 points of subdual damage... but thats upto you to be honest - its not necessary at all.

Rewritten. I made adjustments to better suit the spell.

I may have made a mistake in trying to get my original intentions across.
